If you love adventure, this trip packs it all: hiking, swimming, and rappelling in one unforgettable experience.
We'll begin our hike in Barichara or Guane. We’ll cross the Suárez River at the Puente de Ruedas, taking in the breathtaking canyon views. The final stretch leads us uphill toward Ecoparque Batan, a hidden paradise full of waterfalls and dense forests.
Upon arrival, we’ll have time to explore the waterfalls or simply relax.Â

Wake up to birdsong and the scent of fresh mountain air. After a big breakfast, it’s time to take on three thrilling rappels:Â
15-meter descent – A gentle warm-up to get comfortable with the technique.
35-meter descent – A thrilling drop with incredible views of the canyon.
83-meter descent – The ultimate adventure, rappelling down a towering waterfall, feeling the mist on your face.
After the rappelling adventure, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pools to cool off. Then enjoy a final lunch before heading back to Barichara by van or car.Â

Getting There
You can fly into Bucaramanga and take a taxi or bus to Barichara, or travel by bus to San Gil and connect from there. Prefer to start in Bucaramanga? We can set that up too.
Good to Know
Visa: Many travelers can enter Colombia visa-free for 90 days. Double-check with your embassy.
Insurance: Travel insurance is required. Make sure it covers adventure activities like rappelling.
Vaccines: Yellow fever, hepatitis A, and typhoid are recommended. Visit a travel clinic before you go.
We recommend you are fit. We will be hiking for several hours and we will be walking along the river and waterfalls.
Absolutely! No prior rappelling experience is needed. Our guides will provide full safety instructions and equipment to ensure a fun and secure experience.
Yes! If you prefer a shorter route, we can arrange a tuk-tuk ride to Guane, from where we’ll continue the hike.
We provide all necessary camping equipment, including tents, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags. The campsite is in a natural setting, so expect a real wilderness experience.
